The Luxurious Paris

Paris is known as the city of light
because of its thinkers and artists and what not.
If you translate the latin words "de lux",
it literally means "of light".

And this kind of light is what we sought in Paris.

The city is packed with history.
With houses where famous pianists, writers and painters once lived,
impressive palaces where the royals used to reside.

I've done it all two years ago.
But there was one quintessentially Paris thing
I didn't do before: visiting luxury brands which originated here.

So, that was the main objective of this trip.

This was not on our list, but the store front looked adorable.

They've been in business since 1747!!
Isn't that something.

Not as old, but founded in 1854,
Louis Vuitton is probably the most well-known French luxury brand.
This is the flagship store on Champs-Elyées.

Look at this window display!!

All the different kinds and colors of fabrics strung together.
Pretty.

However, a major problem at the store.
There was a line to get inside!!
Under the hot Parisian sun, there we stood.
Maybe for 15, 20 minutes?

Being the flagship store, they had an innumerable amount of products.
Of course, Louis Vuitton never have any sale,
I wasn't planning to buy anything substantial there. Pity015.gif
But as a souvenir, I got something small.
A lock and keys.

Not as recognizable as LV, but I had been wanting to visit here.

Goyard.

Established a year earlier to Louis Vuitton,
Goyard is also a prestigious luggage maker.

For some reason, I’m obsessed with hard case trunks.

Aren't they beautiful?
The pattern on the fabric is all hand-printed, I hear.
When we were browsing inside the boutique,
we over-heard this interesting conversation by
two clients who just ran into each other at the store.

Mrs. Exigence: “My gosh, Campy, what are you doing here!”
Mr. Campy: “Oh!! It's nice to see you, Exigence, I'm just shopping.”
Mrs. Exigence: “Good, good, are you?”
Mr. Campy: “I'm very good, thank you. By the way, I saw your house!”
Mrs. Exigence: “Oh, in the magazine?”

Apparently Mrs. Exigence's house was recently featured in a magazine.

I would like to say, one day, to a friend,
“Oh, dear, you saw my house in the magazine?”

Anyway, moving on…

Of course, we can't miss this brand.

Chanel.
I love their ceramic watches, but otherwise,
there's not much for men. Shame.
I really adore their long necklaces, but I don't think I could pull it off.
I'm too hairy003.gif

After that, we went to the Hermès flagship store.

Yes, we've already gone to the sale,
we just wanted to look.
I did actually get a refill for my agenda,
which they weren't selling at the sale.
They had dog collars with crocodile leather and what not.
Exquisite.
Too bad our dog doesn't wear a collar.
(like I would get it even if he did004.gif)

Unlike these fashion houses, Christian Louboutin hasn't been
around that long, but I needed to check out the selection.

The boutique was rather small.
And again, there was a line outside.
Only took 5 minutes this time, though.
Meanwhile, I took a picture of the window.

Disappointingly, they only had 5 pairs of shoes for men.
And nothing was on sale.
I liked one pair, but it was metallic, and I just got metallic.
This was at the end of our trip, there was nothing left to spend.

Maybe next season, I might get lucky.

Only two, three years ago I was here,
but I had no interest at all in any of these stores.
This trip revealed a new and luminous side of Paris,
and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks for reading!!
