It's not that we need to have an excuse to party,
but this time of year is full of excuses.

So, we were invited to a party at our friends' place.
The party was,

Belated Thanksgiving,
Early Christmas,
Birthday,
Good-bye & Good Luck in NYC party

So, the party was grand and was full of people.

Probably the only part of the apartment that was deserted.

Their apartment has got so much character.
I absolutely love the place.
The spacious attic of the building is divided by a mezzanine,
so the lower part is one big open space where the kitchen is.
The upper level is set up to be the en-suite master bedroom.

Since they're moving out, I suppose we could take over the place.
But one major, MAJOR downfall.

No elevator. And it's on the 5th floor, basically.

I would die

For this special multi-faceted event,
I concocted this.

Bûche de Noël with green tea cream.

Just so you know, the cracks are deliberately there
to give it the semblance of a log.

I gave it a Japanese twist by filling it with green tea cream
There is no flour used in this recipe.
The result is a moist and dense cake.

I thought it turned out alright for my first try.
