Chocolaty Revenge

Being inspired by these delicious square truffles sold
at the Chocolate Festival a couple of weeks ago,
I made my own version last week.

I would usually say, "look at the picture here" but I don't have one.
Because my first attempt was rather... ugly.



When I tried making the truffles, I was cooking dinner simultaneously.
So, I took some illegal shortcuts and what not, and eventually,
the chocolate and fat content separated

I'm like Monica Geller, I'm super competitive.
I was not gonna let this failure discourage me.
So, I tried. Again.

This time, I used a different recipe.
I basically boiled some heavy cream and added finely chopped
chocolate, honey, and some dessert wine.
The last ingredient is purely my own addition.

And here's my creation ( and this time, I have the picture)


It's still not up to my standard...
It tastes wonderful, (I like the hint of dessert wine in there)
but the texture, hmmm, not to my liking. It's a bit too chewy.
Steven said, "it's a really creamy fudge you made."

Thanks for the comment, Mr. I'm-a-fancy-chocolate-connoisseur.

And they don't look perfectly pretty because I was;
sloppy = impatient = dying to eat the chocolate.

Hence the rough finish.

What I need to do for my next trial is to reduce the cream and
increase the chocolate, and I'm gonna add some Baileys Irish Cream

Sounds good, right?

I'm gonna get this right some day...
