Happy Hour in the River

My daily life can be domestic and even banal.
So, I need to spice it up a bit.

How?

All you need is a place, alcoholic beverages, and,
most importantly, some Scottish people!!



There was a place that I was curious about.

Brasserie des halles de l'île

We've noticed this place at night several times.
The candle-lit restaurant seemed awfully romantic.

But I'm sometimes too skeptical and hesitant to try new stuff.
So, I needed some co-(possible)sufferers.

Last Friday, we asked the Scottish people out for drinks after work.
On the bridge close to our place, there's a staircase that leads to
the little island where the brasserie is.

I loved the short journey getting there.
It felt magical to use this secret-passage-like stairs.

We were there just for the drinks, so we didn't get to sit in the section
that hangs over the river. It's reserved for the dinners.

Looking at the drink menu,
the prices slapped my face to remind me that we were in Geneva.
Cocktails were about 14, 15 dollars in average.

Steven got a Gin Fizz($15), I got a glass of white wine ($6),
and the Scottish people got Mojitos($15).

There were a decent amount of people there,
but the brasserie was spacious, and we didn't feel claustrophobic.

I'm not sure if they're open during the day,
but it might be a good place to come with a friend for coffee.
So close from my home, too.

As a restaurant, they offer some "plats du jour".
I don't know what they were cookin', but somethin' smelled good.
We'll be back for dinner one of these days, I think
