Glacier Express Derails

"Are you ok? I don't think you're on the train,"
my Mom's text read,
"but I just wanted to know you're alright, text me back."

I had no idea about what she was talking about.




I texted her back an inappropriate joke, followed by
a correcting "I'm really ok" message.

I got on the Internet to figure out what happened.

Apparently, the Glacier Express derailed somewhere
between St. Moritz and Zermatt.

42 people got injured, of which 6 are in critical condition,
and one person was killed in the accident.

This news made it to Japan at the speed of light
because most of the injured are Japanese tourists.

Some sources say the police are not disclosing the nationality of
the deceased, but others say it was not a Japanese national.

Since our royal guest from the U.S. was interested in this scenic ride,
we were considering about taking her royal highness on this very train.

She, instead, changed her royal mind and decided to go to Milan.

Fate is unpredictable.

This Glacier Express is something I would like to do before I leave,
but now, I'm not quite sure if I feel safe enough.

But then again, life is full of unexpected events.
We can't be too afraid to live.

I wish speedy recovery to those who are injured.
