Steamy Chinese Night

I usually shy away from "authentic" Chinese food
just because I'm scared of what some of the restaurants look like.

Small, not modern, dim and questionable.

My Italian friend Sheeta introduced me to a restaurant like that
years ago, and ever since, I became a regular

It's best to go to Dumping Inn with a group of friends
so that you can share and order a variety of dishes.

Since it was a cold night,

Deluxe wonton soup to start off.

Then, some pot-stickers.

These are different from the Japanese equivalent,
in that the skin is much thicker.
(Of course, I prefer the Japanese ones, but these are good as they are.)

Then to steamed pork buns.

They're piping hot and filled with also hot soup.

As one of the more substantial mains,

Tofu with spicy meat sauce.
Richly spiced with silky tofu...
Per-fec-tion.

And last but not least,

Honey glazed shrimp.
Spicy and sweet, an addictive combination.
(We actually ordered one more dish, but I forgot to take a picture of it.)


Ah, another successful night out dining
