Flying to Paris for Hermès Soldes

Paris isn't that far away from Geneva.
3 hours and 15 minutes by TGV.

Flying would be, in theory, faster.
But then, we need to be at the airport at least 1 hour before,
and once we arrive at Orly, we need to take a bus and a train
to get to central Paris.

So, yeah, in the end, TGV is the better option.
But we didn't fly for convenience.

The trip though the outskirt of Paris was a bit melancholy.

Cold morning,
people congregating around the heater on the platform.

Instead of going the hotel, we went to Porte Maillot.

For the Hermès Soldes!!!

By the time we got there, it was about 9:30.
There was a coat-check, so we left our coats and suitcase.
And we entered the battlefield.

Because that was already the 3rd day in to the sales,
it was not that competitive, actually.

Still, It was immensely fun shopping there, though

Our half-empty suitcase came handy when leaving the soldes.

Back at the metro station,
we recieved a typical Parisian welcome.

100 tourists trying to buy metro tickets
but only 2 windows and a ticket machine are open.

Chaos.

Unfortunately, we had to join the crowd.

Fortunately, it didn't take too long,
plus,
I was super buzzed from shopping at the Hermes Soldes

ルブタンの接客

ジュネーブのお店での接客は酷い。　
カスタマーサービスが弱いと評判のパリに比べても劣るんじゃ？

そんな中、唯一赤いヒールのルブタン屋さんは良いと思う。　
店員さんみんな、って訳ではないけど、でも一人の兄ちゃんは
必要以上のカスタマーサービスをしてくれる。
（って書くととてもイヤらしく聞こえるけど。。。）


この前、お店に行ったら、こんな物をくれた。

カワイイ〜

超カワイイ

「ところで、この前買った靴って防水スプレーとかして良いの？」
って聞いたら、

「うん、あ、良いスプレーがあるよ！」って裏でガサゴソ。

持って来たスプレーを見て、「じゃ、頂きます。おいくら？」
って尋ねると、

「あ〜、いい、いい、あげるよ〜。」って。　

ジュネーブで無償で何かを貰うと無性に嬉しい

ね、ここの土地にしては珍しく気が利くサービス。　

余計赤いヒールの靴が欲しくなったでしょ？？

Louis Vuitton Chocolate

Feels like ages ago now,
but before Christmas, we went to a Christmas party at
chez Vuitton.

On our way out at the door,
they gave us this.

I was like,

"Oh! What would it be?! A paper weight?"

But it was something edible.

Chocolate from La maison du chocolat.

Chocolate covered almonds

They remind me of this.

Meiji Almond Chocolate

I have to say I prefer Meiji.

But eating this LV chocolate brings me back
memories from my childhood.

ベルリン冬避行：シャンデリアに始まりシャンデリアで終わる

また随分と間が空きましたが。。。

もう一ヶ月も前になるから記憶もボンヤリ。

朝からこんなシャンデリアが吊らされている場所で朝食を。

決して豪華なところでは無い。

だって、これだもん。

ソーセージエッグマクマフィン

ジュネーブじゃ食べられないからね〜。
ベルリンでわざわざ食べる様なもんじゃないけど。

ここまで来てわざわざ食べた物と言えば、これ。

餃子と鳥の唐揚げ。　

スティーブンって、鳥の唐揚げのファンなんです。

揚げ物は我が家じゃ作らなくなったからね〜。
外食の時しか食べれない。

餃子は皮が硬くていまいちだったけど、
メインのラーメンは美味しかった。

この後は又買物を一生懸命楽しんで、
クタクタになった頃にはディナー。　

トリュフ様も一日中歩いてて垂れぱんだ化してたから、
ホテルでお留守番。

日中はお肉屋さんだけど夜はレストランになるって感じの
お洒落だけど過剰にモダンすぎない可愛いお店。

折角ドイツだからビールと思って、

ラドラー。

まずはアミューズ。　

エビとキノコとロブスターソース？
美味しかった。

僕の前菜はこんなの。

子ダコとサーモン。
アボカド、ミルクソース、カレー粉とか、不思議な組み合わせ。　
タコがおいしかったけど。　

メインはステーキ。　
お肉屋さんだからね。

もうちょっと火が通ってた方が良かったけど。　
またも栗のゼリーとか不思議なお供が。　

デザートもまた面白い。　

何を使って作ったか忘れたけど酸っぱかったり甘かったり。　

最後のプティフール。

可愛い。　

最初から最後まで色々工夫して有って努力が感じられる。　
サーバーの女性もと〜っても親切で楽しい食事だったし。

シャンデリアで始まりシャンデリアで終わる、
ベルリンの素敵な一日。

Shopping in Berlin Through Fabrics

To recap, I wasn't exactly thrilled to go to Berlin at first.

One of the things that I looked forward to in this trip was,
of course, shopping

The 26th, a.k.a. Boxing Day,
was very different from what we are used to before.
Every retail store was completely closed.

At least we had time to do sightseeing.

To make up for the time lost,
we shopped for clothes non-stop on the 27th!!!

To seem less obnoxious, supposing that is somewhat possible,
I'll show you the close up pictures of what I have purchased.

I love the color combination of this fabric.
And this is an obscure German label that no one would know here.
That's one great thing about shopping in a foreign country.

What's the fun in wearing the stuff you can buy anywhere?

Well, sometimes you find a deal that is just too good to pass up.

There are so many stores in Berlin!!
Shopping in Geneva has become dull in the recent months,
so this change of scenery definitely recharged my will to shop.

My wardrobe is a pell-mell of different styles.
But recently I like to find items that are classic but with a twist.

The color of the year 2012 for me was lagoon / turquoise.
For 2013, I think it's gonna be yellow.

So vibrant and so cheerful.

I'm drawn to anything lemon yellow.
It's an in-your-face kinda color, though.
Pulling it off could be a challenge...

Yet I'd rather die trying.
